Musculo-Skeletal Ultrasound

Musculo-Skeletal Ultrasound

More than any other field of Ultrasound, Musculoskeletal sonography is highly operator dependent, and it is the very interactive nature between the examiner and the patient which is of greatest benefit.

A good clinical history, as well as information on the exact anatomical location and character of symptoms, tenderness with probe palpation, and the positions or movements which illicit or aggravate symptoms can be invaluable for accurate interpretation of findings.

A particular advantage of Ultrasound is that contralateral comparison (comparing left and right sides) is easily performed to help distinguish significant findings from variations of normal. On occasion, contralateral comparison can detect unsuspected abnormalities, which can be crucial to the diagnosis and management of the patient.

Because of this, it is therefore most essential that it is performed by a Specialist Sonographer/Radiologist who are experienced in the field and have particular expertise in Musculo-skeletal Ultrasound.

Beehive Solutions ensures Musculo-Skeltal Ultrasound requests are collated on to lists specifically created four our Specialist Ultrasound Practitioners with excellent Musculo-Skeletal Ultrasound examinations.
